Conservatories

All our conservatories are bespoke – tailored to your requirements. We manufacture and install, using hardwood timbers, all factory-finished and painted to the colour of your choice.

CAD-CAM images can be created for you as well.

We work with trusted building companies that can create the foundations and walls for your build and can provide a complete turnkey solution to the project. This would also incorporate any electrical work, tiling of floors and underfloor heating solutions.

Victorian Style Conservatories

Whether you choose a three, five or seven faceted approach to your conservatory project then the angled shape takes on the traditional look of a Victorian era conservatory with a classic ‘bell end’ roof construction.

The Victorians built some spectacular conservatories originally intended to provide warmth and protection for their collections of exotic plants.

Gable End Conservatories

These are sometimes referred to as Regency or Georgian style conservatories. They are a traditional design with a ridged roof and a vertical gable end face which can have straight, vertical bars or mullions following the lines of the frames upwards or with an optional radiating starburst (sunburst) or even a full cartwheel design within the gable.

We make more gable end conservatories than any other design probably due to their timeless classical looks and the beauty of the gable.

This style of conservatory gives a large and airy feel to the internal area and with the feature gable end section providing a beautiful and elegant overall look.

Lean-To Conservatories

Lean-to conservatories may also be known as garden rooms, sun rooms or Mediterranean-style conservatories.

Although ‘lean-to’ may imply something more simple, the same care and quality goes into this design as all others. In fact, they can be more complex to build, as we often need to cater for large spans or even when one end or both ends are hipped or shaped.

The lean-to design is often used in conjunction with other conservatory shapes to create ‘P’ or ‘T’ shapes. They can wrap around outside corners or fit to the inside of corners of your house and are extremely versatile for creating a useful living space in awkward shaped areas.

Edwardian Style Conservatories

Similar to a gable end construction where the footprint of the conservatory is oblong/ square and has a ridge, the Edwardian style is easily spotted by the fact that the front part of its roof section ‘leans backward’ into the ridge. In other words a hipped front section.

This style really came into its own in the Edwardian era and the squarish shape provides a generous living area and bold lines. Victorian styles with three or more facets don’t make optimum use of the internal floor space and can be more expensive to build.

Edwardian styles are much more easily achieved and provide for a very light and airy feel inside.

Solid Roof Conservatories

We approach the building of a solid roof conservatory in a similar way to a traditional all-glass conservatory in that the frames and doors are normally the same. Subject to roof loadings calculations, we will often ‘beef up’ the construction timber profiles as necessary.

In conjunction with our builders/ roofers, we will normally construct the roof rafters too, with the roofers finishing off with tiled or similar final roof covering, including membrane and full insulation.

We have access to structural engineers who work out the roof loadings and advise on steel or glued laminated timber support beams.
